چکیده

Bacillus spp. are well known to protect plants from seed or soil-borne pathogens by the synthesis of various metabolites with antimicrobial activity, such as hy?drolytic enzymes and antibiotics. This study aimed select most effective a group ten antagonistic strains antifungal activity assay. were primarily isolated soil identified B. safensis, pumilus subtilis 16S rDNA sequencing. The four analyzed fungi: Macrophomina phaseolina, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium cladosporoides, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, obtained sunflower seeds using PCR analysis primers specific for ITS region. bacterial was examined in dual plate demonstrated highest antagonism against S. followed C. M. A. an average percentage growth inhibition (PGI) 77%, 70%, 64% 59%, respectively. Overall, included this rather strong biocontrol potential, although effect particular strain varied depending on tested fungi. toward phaseolina alternata exhibited safensis B2 B3. B11 B32 efficient whereas B3 B7 had sclerotiorum. Findings point fact that could be used potential agents improving plant health productivity.

Potential of Microbial Antagonists as Biocontrol Agents against Plant Fungal Pathogens

A variety of fungi are known to cause important plant diseases, resulting in a significant lost in agricultural crops. The plant diseases need to be controlled to maintain the level of yield both quantitatively and qualitatively. Farmers often rely heavily on the use of synthetic fungicides to control the plant diseases. However, the environmental problems caused by excessive use and misuse of ...

PLANT PATHOGENS AS BIOCONTROL AGENTS INNATn7EHAWAIIANECOSY~S

Several examples, some spectacular, are available of successful applications of weed biocontrol approaches with plant pathogenic agents in agricultural and rangeland situations. The overall percentage rate of success of all such programs attempted cannot yet be documented, however. Both the "mycoherbicide" method, in which large quantities of inoculum are directly applied to target plants, and ...

Evaluation of biocontrol potential of Pseudomonas and Bacillus spp. against Fusarium wilt of chickpea

In this study, antagonistic effects of 6 isolates of Pseudomonas and 6 isolates of Bacillus genera isolated from rhizosphere of chickpea were evaluated against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris as potential biocontrol agents in vitro and in vivo. Fungal inhibition tests were performed using plate assay. Each isolate were tested for the production of protease, siderophore, cyanide hydrogen, indo...

Biocontrol potential of Trichoderma Sp. against plant pathogens

Forty two strains of Trichoderma sp. were isolated from cultivated lands around Bangalore and analyzed for their antagonistic potential against Sclerotium rolfsii and Fusarium ciceri. The potential of biocontrol agents ultimately lies in their capacity to control pathogens in vivo. Bioefficacy studies were hence conducted using chickpea (Cicer argentums c.v. Annigeri) as an experimental plant b...
